Robert Taylor and Zac Schofield
Wyoming, USA
Dr Robert Taylor, the owner of Lonetree, has an incredible curiosity for nearly everything, and embodies the Science of Ranching. Bob grew up in south Texas, and having worked for a large ranch as a teenager, knew early on that was ultimately what he hoped to do. Bob has enjoyed a long and successful veterinary career, and now ranches full-time.
Zac Schofield is the Manager of Lonetree Ranch. Born and raised 25 miles from Lonetree, Zac and his family have ranched in the area for three generations. Zac has made hard choices to stay a rancher. He has an innate sense for the land and for the animals, combined with an incredible memory for what happened last year (and the year before that.) Zac has and his team of dogs can move and manage all of the livestock on the ranch without any additional help. He embodies the Art of Ranching on a daily basis.

Tennessee
Belle Meadow Farm is located in the beautiful rolling hills of middle Tennessee at the base of the Cumberland Plateau. It is located just 3.5 miles from I-24 at exit 97, halfway between Nashville and Chattanooga.
At Belle Meadow we raise purebred Polled Hereford and Angus cattle as well as maintain a commercial black baldy herd. The operation is mainly cow-calf with about 200 head of cows. The farm is home to six working stock dogs (Australian Cattle Dogs & Kelpies) whose job it is to educate the weanlings, move cattle regularly to greener pastures and gather cattle for sorting and pen work.
Accommodations are available in the three homes on the property.

A special feature at Belle Meadow are the Gardens. The Park at Belle Meadow is comprised of some 200 trees and flowering plants. An English Knot Garden and Parterre are the highlight of the Park at Belle Meadow. A stamped concrete pathway around the acre pond makes easy access to enjoy the ever changing foliage with the season. Get your morning or evening walk - each lap around the pond yields a quarter of a mile.
School instruction will be held at The Stables at Belle Meadow, just a half a mile from on-site lodging. The 42-stall equestrian facility with indoor and outdoor riding arenas has been converted into the winter calving facility. There are individual cow/calf pens as well as loafing areas for cows/calf pairs. There are additional loafing areas and pens adjacent to the Stables, plus 4 paddocks and a trial arena. The working cow barn, paddocks and feed lot area are on the back of the 600-acre property through the alfalfa fields.
